A Night In A Concorde Suite.

If there ever was a time that I felt like a movie star, it was when I stayed in the Dolomite Suite at the Concorde Hotel.

As soon as I entered the spacious 10th floor suite, I immediately felt at home when I found a little nook to hang up my jacket and leave my shoes.

I then noted a guest bathroom and thought how perfect it would be when my friends visited later that night. In true celebrity diva fashion, I delighted at the thought of not having to share my bathroom.

Continuing through the round shaped suite, I entered the dining and living room area only to be greeted with a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a panoramic view of the West Berlin cityscape. A couple of window even have a cushioned bench where you can curl up, drink your morning coffee and read the newspaper.

I admired the stylish touches such as the Junior Toscanelli artwork that adorn the walls and the books about French fashion and literature found around the room.

The technology geek in me especially loved the large home theatre system complete with a large flat screen TV. My friends and I danced the night away listening to tunes from the satellite radio.

In the bedroom, there’s a king size bed (which I may or may not have joyously jumped up and down on a few times) and a huge closet with plenty of storage space. I especially liked how you can quickly and easily pull across a wall partition to gain any needed privacy.

For me the “piece de resistance” was the ensuite bathroom. The his-and-her wash basins, high-end toiletries and soaker tub all stole my heart.

Most extraordinary of all is the glass partition which separates the bathroom and living room areas. At the touch of a button, the glass becomes opaque while with another touch of the button, it becomes clear and allows you to leisurely bathe while taking in that Berlin view.

I certainly made sure to take an hour long bubble bath, accompanied by a glass of champagne and a good book!

Then there was all the other little touches which made my experience in a Concorde Suite complete such as the fresh fruit and sweets waiting on the dining room table, the fully stocked mini-bar, the comfortable bath robe and slippers and the delivery of a morning paper in English.

I concluded my stay with a delicious breakfast in Club Etoile, where suite I enjoyed my meal in a quiet and intimate setting. I couldn’t have ended my weekend in a better way.

Why don’t you book a suite now?
