Experience Easter in Berlin

There is some nice weather predicted for the Easter weekend so if you see the sun peek out from behind a cloud, get outside as fast as you can! There are lots of nice outdoor activities to enjoy as well as some very traditional things around the city to get you into the Easter spirit.

Breitscheidplatz Easter Market

Bring out your inner child and enjoy the festival spirit at the 4th annual Easter market. Just around the corner from the hotel at Breitschiedplatz (between the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the Europa Centre) there’s a carousel, lots of delicious foods and of course easter eggs and that big rabbit (the Easter bunny). The market is on every day from 11am until 9 pm.

The Medieval Easter Festival at Spandau Citadel

For the real historic experience, there is no better place to be than the fort at Spandau this weekend. In its 10th year, the Medieval Festival is a highlight of the calendar with markets, performances and acrobatics as well as an ongoing parade of knights, jesters and other medieval type characters wandering about. There’s jousting and horses and of course the wonderful fortress to explore. It starts at 10 am Saturday and runs through until Easter Monday. The Citadel is on the U7 at the U Zitadelle stop about 30 minutes from the hotel.
